Aamsco Lighting has completed the acquisition of Lightly Technologies of Dublin.
Summerville, SC, September 2020 – In an effort to achieve new designs in decorative lighting, Aamsco has acquired Lightly Technologies, creator of the Hikari SQ edge-lit LED panel.
Developed in 2016, Lightly Tech founder and mechanical engineer, Matt Hanbury, worked on both OLED lighting and LCD smartphone displays engineering. By combining his deep knowledge of these two sectors, he developed the Hikari SQ edge-lit LED panel, an ultra-thin light source with the appearance and design benefits of OLED lighting, but with the performance of LED technology.
“The potential for thin lighting solutions is wide ranging, including a piqued interest from the automotive industry. We are seeing new inquiries from Audi and Volkswagen, as they see a unique design in tail lighting. We will also be pursuing all venues of the transportation industry, including Boeing, which is literally in our backyard in Charleston, SC,” according to Bob Rosenzweig, President of Aamsco Lighting.
With this acquisition, the Lightly Tech brand will be given more global accessibility, with strategic marketing in the US. Aamsco Lighting now has the ability to offer a unique, ultra-thin lighting design, utilizing both OLED & LED edge-lit panels. With these new technology options, Aamsco is truly leading the way in enabling a new generation of lighting solutions. Find out more at www.aamsco.com.
